Kasbah Tamadot is Virgin Limited Edition’s celebrated High Atlas retreat, set above the village of Asni with mountain, valley and garden views. The property combines a restored kasbah with extensive gardens, individually decorated rooms and suites, luxury Berber-style tents and a newer collection of riads, giving guests considerably more choice than the word ‘kasbah’ might suggest.
Traditional furnishings, antiques and Moroccan craftsmanship run throughout the property. Many pieces came from the collection of former owner Luciano Tempo, while contemporary work with local Berber communities continues through the Eve Branson Foundation.
Rooms, suites, tents and riads
No two rooms are identical. Superior Rooms look towards the courtyards, Terrace Rooms add private outdoor space and garden, pool or mountain views, while suites provide larger sitting areas and greater privacy. Some suites can accommodate a child, and a two-bedroom Superior Suite works particularly well for families.
For a more distinctive stay, the luxury tents add private terraces and mountain views. Six three-bedroom riads expand the family and group offering further, each incorporating a Two Bedroom Pool Suite and a Rooftop Tented Suite. The breadth of accommodation means the property can work equally well for a couple or a multi-generational trip.
Atlas Mountain days
The High Atlas setting encourages guests to spend time outdoors. Walks can explore nearby villages and mountain scenery, while the gardens and terraces provide a gentler way to absorb the landscape. Private excursions can be arranged for guests wanting to understand Berber culture and the wider valleys rather than simply admire the view from the hotel.
Back at the kasbah, pools, tennis and other activities allow active days without leaving the estate. The atmosphere is sufficiently relaxed that doing very little is equally valid.
Food and wellness
Dining draws on Moroccan flavours and local produce, with the setting changing the experience between terraces, gardens and interior spaces. The hotel also provides dedicated wellness facilities, making it possible to balance mountain exploration with hammam-style rituals, treatments and time by the pool.
The property is close enough to Marrakech to combine the two easily but feels dramatically different once guests reach the mountains.

Good to know
The accommodation categories vary substantially in position, size and atmosphere, so selecting the right one matters. Guests who want maximum privacy should discuss suites, tents and riads rather than simply booking the entry category. Mountain weather can also differ noticeably from Marrakech.
Why stay at Kasbah Tamadot?
Kasbah Tamadot makes the Atlas Mountains feel like a destination rather than a day trip from Marrakech. Its combination of landscape, distinctive accommodation and polished service allows guests to slow down and experience the mountains properly. Private Hideaway Escapes can pair it with Marrakech, Skoura or the desert for a journey built around contrasting Moroccan landscapes.
