The Oberoi Vanyavilas sits close to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and is designed around the romance of historic royal camps, but with the comfort expected of a top Indian resort. The accommodation is all tented. Standard Luxury Tents have teak floors, canopied beds, freestanding baths and private garden patios, while newer pool categories add private swimming pools and substantially more outdoor space. The Royal Tent with Private Pool creates an especially private compound with separate sleeping and living tents, courtyard and pool.
Dining, wellness and time at the property
The Dining Room serves a changing mix of Rajasthani, Indian and international food, with evenings often moving into the courtyard around a bonfire and live folk music. There is also a library-style bar and an alfresco bar. The resort has a heated seasonal pool, spa, fitness tent, yoga and children’s activities, but the central purpose of a stay is wildlife – particularly expertly arranged jeep drives into Ranthambore.
Safari planning
Ranthambore operates through allocated park zones and controlled vehicle permits. We plan drives before arrival and explain that tiger sightings are never guaranteed. The wider landscape, birdlife and other mammals are part of the experience, not consolation prizes.

We normally recommend at least three nights so clients have several safari opportunities rather than relying on a single drive. Tiger sightings can never be guaranteed, and park zones and permits matter, so safari planning should be handled well in advance. Vanyavilas combines naturally with Jaipur, Agra or Delhi and is a good way to add serious wildlife to a cultural Rajasthan itinerary without compromising on comfort.
