Villa Des Orangers

Villa Des Orangers is a polished, privacy-first base in Marrakesh: design in stone and timber, service that lands lightly, and days tuned to light, weather and appetite. Expect unhurried outings,...

Villa Des Orangers is a 33-room Relais & Chateaux hotel at the foot of the Koutoubia, positioned between Marrakech’s Royal Palace and Jemaa el-Fna. Built as a private riad in the 1930s and converted into a hotel after 1998, it combines an unusually central medina location with the space and facilities of a small luxury hotel.

Patios, carved wood, textiles, gardens and terraces create a calm interior world only a short distance from some of Marrakech’s busiest streets. It is a particularly useful choice for travellers who want to explore on foot but still value pools, spa facilities and a proper restaurant.

Thirty-three rooms and suites

The hotel has 33 rooms and suites, with categories including Deluxe Rooms and a variety of suites, some with private terraces. Larger options add separate living space and views over the internal pools or rooftops.

The architecture retains the inward-looking character of a riad, so rooms are about calm, privacy and craftsmanship rather than floor-to-ceiling city views. Private Hideaway Escapes can advise on categories with terraces for guests who place a high value on outdoor space.

Three pools and a 60 square metre hammam

Villa Des Orangers has three seasonally heated pools, including a 16-metre basin, an unusually generous offering for such a central property. The spa includes three massage rooms, one suitable for couples, and a 60 square metre hammam.

These facilities make it possible to alternate mornings in the medina with genuinely relaxed afternoons back at the hotel.

Dining in the heart of Marrakech

The restaurant serves lunch and dinner and moves comfortably between Moroccan and broader Mediterranean influences. Room service is also available through much of the day. Because the hotel is so central, guests can easily mix meals on property with carefully selected restaurants elsewhere in the medina and new city.

Good to know

The hotel is central enough that guests can spend substantial time on foot, reducing the need for repeated vehicle transfers into the medina. Its combination of pools and location is relatively unusual, making it particularly effective for travellers who want both sightseeing and downtime without changing hotels.

Why stay at Villa Des Orangers?

Villa Des Orangers gets the balance right between riad intimacy and hotel practicality. The Koutoubia and old city are close, but the pools, patios and spa provide real refuge when guests return. Private Hideaway Escapes can build a Marrakech programme around private guiding while leaving enough unscheduled time to enjoy the property itself.
