Dhaalu Atoll lies in the central-southern Maldives, sufficiently removed from Male to feel distinctly remote. Coral islands, broad lagoons and channels create the familiar Maldivian palette while resort islands remain widely separated.
Beyond the first impression
Snorkelling and diving are central to the experience, with conditions and marine sightings varying by site and season. Many resorts also make excellent use of the lagoon for watersports, private cruises and sandbank experiences.
Days shaped around the destination
Because most of the stay takes place on one island, resort selection is critical. Villa privacy, reef access, dining variety, spa quality and children’s facilities can matter more than small differences in the appearance of the beach.
Planning a longer stay
Dhaalu works well for honeymooners, families and guests seeking a self-contained resort escape. Transfer arrangements should be considered at the planning stage, particularly around international flight times.
