Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road follows Victoria’s spectacular Southern Ocean coast through surf towns, rainforest and limestone cliffs, including the celebrated Twelve Apostles.

Australia’s most famous coastal drive runs west from near Melbourne through a landscape that changes constantly between beaches, forested ranges and exposed limestone coast.

Experiencing Great Ocean Road

Stop for coastal walks, wildlife, waterfalls and rainforest in the Otways before reaching the sea stacks and cliffs around Port Campbell. The road itself is part of the experience, not simply transport between landmarks.

Planning your stay

Allow at least two nights if possible. Staying along the route makes sunrise and evening quieter and avoids reducing the journey to a long day trip.
