Vancouver Island stretches along British Columbia’s Pacific coast and is large enough to support very different journeys. Victoria, forested interiors, surf beaches and remote northern shores all sit within the same island geography.
Nature at the forefront
Whale watching, kayaking, hiking and forest exploration are central to many itineraries. The west coast around Tofino feels markedly different from the gentler landscapes and communities further south.
Allow enough time
Distances are greater than they first appear, so the island rewards selective planning. Combining a few well-chosen bases is preferable to trying to cover the entire coastline in one trip.
