Lake Mburo

Lake Mburo is a compact western Ugandan park of lakes, acacia woodland and open grassland, particularly rewarding for zebra, antelope and active safari experiences.

Lake Mburo National Park lies conveniently between Kampala and Uganda’s south-western highlands. Its mosaic of wetland, woodland and grassland supports wildlife that differs from the country’s forest reserves.

Experiencing Lake Mburo

Game drives, boat trips, walking and, where available, horseback safari offer varied ways to explore. Zebra and impala are characteristic sights, alongside buffalo, hippo and rich birdlife.

Planning your stay

Its location makes Lake Mburo an excellent first or final safari stop around longer journeys to Bwindi or Queen Elizabeth National Park.
