Uganda’s largest national park is divided by the Victoria Nile, which narrows dramatically at Murchison Falls before continuing towards Lake Albert. North of the river, open savannah supports much of the park’s classic game viewing.
Experiencing Murchison Falls National Park
Game drives seek giraffe, elephant, buffalo, antelope and predators, while boat journeys approach the falls and reveal hippo, crocodile and prolific birdlife along the river.
Planning your stay
Murchison works well with chimpanzee or gorilla trekking elsewhere in Uganda, adding a more traditional savannah safari to a primate-led itinerary.
